Git Commit Messages

  • We are using conventional commits. (feat: add maplibre tutorial) Please see this page for more information.
  • Prefix the commit message with one of the following tags:
    • feat: A new feature
    • fix: A bug fix
    • docs: Documentation only changes
    • style: Changes that do not affect the meaning of the code (white-space, formatting, missing semi-colons, etc)
    • refactor: A code change that neither fixes a bug nor adds a feature
    • perf: A code change that improves performance
    • test: Adding missing or correcting existing tests
    • chore: Changes to the build process or auxiliary tools and libraries such as documentation generation
  • Try to use the present tense ("add feature" not "added feature")
  • Try to use the imperative mood ("move cursor to..." not "moves cursor to...")
  • Limit the first line to 72 characters or less
  • Reference issues and pull requests liberally after the first line
